Sydney Sweeney has met with two rabbis and is seriously considering converting to Judaism as she and music mogul Scooter Braun discuss building a family together.
Page Six reports the pair have grown serious enough that kids are now part of the conversation, and that Braun feels strongly about it.
That talk has pushed Sweeney, the A-list star of “The Housemaid,” to look hard at converting to Judaism. Online site DeuxMoi first flagged the conversion interest. Page Six now says she has already sat down with two rabbis.
Jewish conversion is not a quick form. The process can take one to four years. It demands rigorous study and a sponsoring rabbi. Sweeney is still in the considering stage, not a finished convert.
Sweeney was earlier spotted with Braun at Rosh Hashanah services at Temple Sholom in Greenwich, Connecticut. A spy who saw them there kept the description simple.
"They sat in the back,"
The congregation counts actress Mayim Bialik and several high-profile financiers among its members. The quiet seat in the rear still put a Hollywood couple inside a traditional High Holiday service.
One source laid out the family talk in plain terms.
"The couple is discussing having their own family and Scooter feels strongly on the subject,"
Braun has already been described as determined to lock the relationship down. Page Six previously reported he planned to propose within six months and was looking to seal the deal.
A source speaking last month went further on the chase.
"He is trying very hard to marry her. He is following her and chartering private planes. He’s going to stay focused on her until she marries him."
On Sept. 12, Braun posted a birthday tribute for Sweeney’s 29th. He called her “the person who surprised me and showed me how life with true partnership can be lived.” He added that she makes him “smile harder, laugh louder, adventure more, and dream bigger,” and that she has “made the ordinary feel exciting and the future feel like something I can’t wait to get to.”
The couple also took a recent group vacation at Lake Powell in Utah. Braun has privately compared Sweeney to a modern Marilyn Monroe. Monroe converted to Judaism after marrying playwright Arthur Miller, a historical echo the current reports invite without claiming an identical path.
Reps for the pair could not be reached for comment. No on-the-record confirmation has been offered beyond the anonymous sourcing and the public appearances already noted.
Hollywood sells rebellion more often than roots. When a young star weighs faith, marriage, and children in the same breath, the old sequence still has a pulse.
