Kylie Jenner has made clear she sees marriage ahead with Timothée Chalamet, yet the actor loves her and is not ready to propose, an insider claims, with sisterly rivalry adding heat.
An anonymous source told Page Six that the Kylie Cosmetics founder is ready to get engaged and has signaled that future to her boyfriend of three years. The same account says Chalamet is invested but has not reached that step, and that a quick proposal would track more with outside pressure than with his own timing.
Reps for Jenner, Chalamet, Kendall Jenner, and Jacob Elordi did not respond to requests for comment. The claims rest on unnamed sourcing, not on-the-record statements from the couple.
At 29 and 30, Jenner and the Oscar-nominated “Dune” and “Wonka” star have been linked since dating rumors first surfaced in April 2023. Public fascination with their timeline now collides with a familiar private question: when is a partner actually prepared to marry?
The source described Jenner’s approach as direct but short of a demand.
The insider told Page Six:
"Kylie is ready to get engaged and has made it pretty clear to Timothée that she sees marriage in their future,"
And added:
"She’s not giving him ultimatums or demanding a ring, but she’s definitely making her feelings known and hoping he’ll get there sooner rather than later."
That still lands as pressure, the same account said. “It’s putting some pressure on Timothée to take that next step.”
On Chalamet’s side, the portrait is affection without readiness.
"Timothée loves Kylie and is very much invested in their relationship, but he’s simply not there yet."
The source went further: if he proposed soon, it would feel driven by that pressure rather than genuine readiness.
Page Six had already reported Jenner feeling “some jealousy and frustration” over the chance her older sister reaches the altar first. Kendall, 30, and “Euphoria” star Jacob Elordi, 29, are in a newer relationship than Kylie and Chalamet. People close to the pairs believe Kendall and Elordi could still marry first.
The insider cast Elordi as “completely all in with Kendall,” while describing Kylie and Chalamet’s bond as more fun and carefree. What bothers Kylie most, the source said, is the chance Kendall gets engaged before her despite the shorter courtship.
"What really bothers Kylie is the possibility of Kendall getting engaged before her, despite being in a much newer relationship,"
Sibling scorekeeping is a poor substitute for a shared decision. Marriage is not a heat in a family relay.
In February, during a London promotional event for “Marty Supreme,” Chalamet faced a question about whether he thought he would ever marry. He joked that the topic was too personal and could get him in “trouble,” then answered, “Yes. Yes.”
That was a general yes to the institution, not a timetable for a proposal to Jenner. The gap between an abstract openness to marriage and a concrete readiness to kneel is exactly what the new sourcing describes.
Hollywood couples live this out under lights the rest of the country never faces. Even so, the basic rule does not change. One partner’s calendar, or a sister’s progress, does not manufacture the other partner’s conviction.
Pressure and envy make loud copy. They make weak grounds for a vow.
