Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig are engaged after more than three years together, a full-circle twist for the former spouses of Amy Robach and TJ Holmes.
The Sun reported that Shue revealed the news in an exclusive interview with People magazine, describing how he and Fiebig built a life together after their then-spouses’ romance blew up both marriages.
Shue, Robach’s ex-husband, and Fiebig, Holmes’s former wife, started dating once the Good Morning America co-hosts’ relationship became public. After more than three years, they got engaged this past spring.
Shue framed the outcome in plain terms.
"I don’t know how it happened, but there’s a happy ending."
Amy Robach and TJ Holmes were discovered dating in November 2022 while still legally married to Shue and Fiebig. Both anchors publicly insisted they had already separated from their spouses before the romance began.
Both marriages later ended in divorce. ABC fired the co-hosts in 2023 after an internal investigation into their alleged affair.
While Robach and Holmes kept drawing headlines, their exes found solace in each other and stayed largely out of the spotlight.
In his People comments, Shue did not cast himself as a blameless bystander. He said he had to own his share of the failed marriage and learn what actually matters in a relationship.
"I had to accept my own part in marriage not working out for me and in not understanding myself well enough."
He called meeting the right person “freak luck” that “just happened,” and said the hard stretch produced gratitude rather than bitterness.
"I had to grow through a lot of pain and a lot of struggle and a lot of humility. I think the magic of love is when you go from a need to giving."
Shue also spoke of balance returning in his personal life and said he sees a similar need for people to turn back toward one another more broadly.
The former GMA pair got engaged in September 2025. On their podcast last October, they disclosed the engagement had happened nearly a month earlier. Holmes offered a casual explanation for the low profile.
"We haven’t been keeping it a secret, but nobody asked!"
They secretly married in Arkansas last month and now live in New York City, where they co-host the podcast. Robach noted she had been wearing a large diamond ring at public events without drawing much notice.
The timeline is stark. Workplace scandal, network firing, divorces, then two separate couples racing into new commitments, one loudly chronicled, the other quieter until Shue spoke up.
Personal wreckage does not have to become a permanent brand. Shue and Fiebig chose repair, patience, and a private second chance while the original drama kept feeding the cameras.
