Iran’s nuclear ambitions lie in rubble after U.S. and Israeli strikes obliterated key facilities. Over the weekend, American forces pounded Iran’s nuclear sites, followed by Israeli attacks that sealed the deal, as the Washington Free Beacon reports. The progressive dream of appeasing Tehran’s mullahs just took a well-deserved hit.
U.S. strikes on Saturday evening targeted Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, with Israel piling on afterward, leaving key sites like Natanz and Fordow in shambles. The International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed extensive damage to uranium enrichment facilities soon after. This one-two punch has Iran’s nuclear dreams on life support.
The IAEA reported a radioactive and chemical release inside the struck facilities, but no off-site radiation spikes. Two gaping holes from U.S. strikes scarred Natanz’s underground enrichment halls. Tehran’s reckless nuclear gambit now faces a reality check.
David Albright, analyzing satellite imagery, declared Iran’s centrifuge program “effectively destroyed.” Trump officials, including the president himself, called the nuclear program “devastated.” The woke media’s handwringing over Iran’s “resilience” just got a dose of truth.
CNN, citing a shaky Defense Intelligence Agency report, claimed Iran’s centrifuges were “intact” and the setback was mere months. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt slammed CNN’s report as “flat-out wrong.” Trust CNN’s track record -- Kyiv’s “fall” in 2022, Hunter Biden’s laptop as “Russian disinformation” -- at your peril.
Iran’s 400 kilograms of highly enriched uranium, enough for 10 warheads, is likely buried under Fordow’s rubble. The mountainside bunker, once thought impenetrable, suffered “very severe damage.” Tehran’s arrogance in stashing uranium there just backfired spectacularly.
Israel’s strikes blocked Fordow’s entrances, trapping materials inside a concrete grave. Sen. Markwayne Mullin revealed Iran likely stored even more uranium there, betting on its invincibility. Hubris meets precision strikes -- game over.
“It is clear that there is one Iran -- before June 13, nuclear Iran -- and one now,” said IAEA chief Rafael Grossi. He noted a “night and day” difference in Iran’s capabilities post-strikes. The globalist crowd’s soft spot for Iran’s regime just got exposed.
Grossi added that a localized radioactive release occurred, but off-site levels remained normal. “I think the Iranian nuclear program has been set back significantly,” he said. Understatement of the year -- Tehran’s nuclear house of cards collapsed.
Israel’s earlier assassinations of Iranian nuclear scientists gutted Tehran’s expertise, per former IDF spokesman Jonathan Conricus. “They don’t have the scientists, and they don’t have the centrifuges,” he said. Iran’s nuclear brain trust is history, and good riddance.
Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, led by Mohammad Eslami, claimed this week that its officials were assessing damage and had plans to restore production. Their spokesman boasted the nuclear industry is “deeply embedded” and untouchable. Delusional bravado won’t dig Fordow out of its tomb.
“Iran had made a series of arrangements in advance to restore the nuclear activities,” Eslami said. Sounds like a desperate regime clutching at straws. Israel’s intelligence infiltration, noted by Elliott Abrams, will spot any rebuilding before it starts.
Andrea Stricker of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies said the sites and materials are “entombed for now,” requiring massive excavation. “Accessing them will require immense Iranian efforts that Israel and the U.S. could stop,” she added. Tehran’s recovery team already learned that lesson the hard way.
Stricker also credited Israel’s pre-strike actions for crippling Iran’s ability to weaponize remaining uranium. “The regime’s ability to weaponize any remaining nuclear material is severely degraded,” she said. The anti-Israel crowd’s narrative just took another hit.
“If the centrifuges have been destroyed, there isn’t much I think that they can do with the enriched uranium,” said Abrams. Iran’s nuclear threat is neutralized, at least for now. The West’s resolve, not appeasement, delivered this win.
