Tyler Cameron and fiancée Tate Madden announced their pregnancy on Dancing with the Stars, then learned live on air they are having a baby girl.
The Bachelorette alum and pro partner Sharna Burgess took the floor for Dedication Night with a Contemporary routine that quickly became about far more than scores.
The Sun reported that Cameron, 33, used the performance to honor his late mother and share life-changing news with fiancée Tate Madden, also 33, before co-host Alfonso Ribeiro staged a live gender reveal that filled the ballroom with pink confetti.
Cameron and Burgess danced to Ed Sheeran’s “Supermarket Flowers.” A voiceover from Cameron made the moment personal and public at once.
"She’s going to be the most incredible mom, just like you. And we’re going to have a baby. I can’t believe it. I’m going to be a dad,"
Tate then joined him on the floor. Cameron stood behind her, cradled her baby bump, and kissed her belly as the audience reacted.
Ribeiro told the couple the show had permission to share the next surprise with them and the viewers.
"Now, you don’t know whether you’re having a boy or a girl, and you’ve given us permission to tell the world together and find out together. So, let’s have a gender reveal,"
He counted down from three. Pink confetti cannons fired. The couple learned on live television they are expecting a daughter.
Cameron spoke into the microphone right after the confetti fell.
"This is incredible. I get to be a girl dad. What a gift. What an amazing opportunity, and I get to be her husband soon and the father of our beautiful baby,"
Tate cried with joy on camera as the ballroom responded to the double reveal.
The routine was framed as a tribute to mothers and to Cameron’s own mother, who died suddenly in February 2020 after a brain aneurysm. That personal loss sat under the dance and the announcement.
Cameron and Madden had already given fans reason to wonder. Earlier in the week, a TikTok from rehearsals showed baggier clothing and Cameron’s hand on her stomach, and viewers took notice. The live show confirmed what many had guessed.
The couple got engaged in August after two years of dating. Cameron proposed in a beach setting. They are both 33. Madden works as a model. The pregnancy news arrived while Cameron is still competing on the current season of Dancing with the Stars.
All four judges scored the Contemporary routine an 8, for a total of 32. Ten pairings competed on Dedication Night. Cameron and Burgess were among those who stayed safe. No couple went home this week.
Next Tuesday is set as a Halloween-themed night. Two pairings are scheduled to leave the competition then. For now, Cameron remains in the running while preparing for marriage and fatherhood on a very public stage.
Family milestones do not usually unfold under studio lights and confetti cannons. When they do, the moment still belongs first to the parents who get to say the words out loud.
