Tom Holland and Zendaya married in a private ceremony at a 370-acre Victorian estate in Surrey, England, capping a three-day celebration that reportedly cost £500,000 and drew A-list guests including Robert Downey Jr.

The couple exchanged vows in the woods at sunset on the grounds of Beaverbrook, a five-star country hotel in the Surrey Hills just 11 miles from Holland's hometown of Kingston-upon-Thames. Roughly 250 guests attended. Staff and guests alike had their phones confiscated, a measure The Sun reported was meant to keep any photos or details from leaking.

Holland, 30, and Zendaya, 29, have guarded their relationship since they began dating shortly after meeting at auditions for *Spider-Man: Homecoming* in 2016. They got engaged in 2024. Holland confirmed earlier this summer, in an interview with Esquire, that the two had already married, though the precise legal and ceremonial timeline remains unclear. The Surrey celebration appears to have been either a second ceremony or a formal wedding following that earlier, quieter union.

Three days at Beaverbrook, no phones allowed

The festivities began on a Monday with a rehearsal dinner at Beaverbrook, a 56-room estate once owned by the late newspaper baron Lord Beaverbrook and known for hosting Winston Churchill. The ceremony itself took place the following evening. Some guests arrived by helicopter. Red and blue lights, a nod to Holland's role as the web-slinging Marvel superhero, lit up the grounds.

Both Holland and Zendaya delivered speeches that an unnamed source described as "very funny but also very emotional."

"There wasn't a dry eye in the house. They're incredibly hard-working and lovely people, and this stunning wedding has capped off an amazing year for them."

That source's assessment of an "amazing year" is hard to dispute on the professional side. *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* shattered domestic box office records and had already grossed £853 million worldwide by the time the wedding took place. Holland and Zendaya walked the red carpet together at the film's UK premiere in Leicester Square just days before the ceremony.

On Wednesday morning, the newlyweds and their guests shared a champagne breakfast before departing in the afternoon. Holland and Zendaya were driven back to their £3 million home in Richmond, in southwest London, with their dog.

Robert Downey Jr., Timothée Chalamet, and Kylie Jenner among reported guests

Unnamed sources identified Robert Downey Jr., Holland's co-star in the Marvel franchise, as among the guests. Actor Timothée Chalamet and his girlfriend Kylie Jenner also reportedly attended. Holland's brother Sam, a 27-year-old chef, served as best man. His twin brother Harry, an actor, and youngest brother Paddy, 21, were there as well.

The guest list, the helicopter arrivals, and the half-million-pound price tag all suggest a lavish affair. But the couple's insistence on phone confiscation, extending even to venue staff, underscores how seriously they take their privacy. Holland has said as much publicly.

"Our relationship is something that we are incredibly protective of and we want to keep as sacred as possible. We don't think that we owe it to anyone. It's our thing, and it has nothing to do with our careers."

That instinct was on display well before the wedding. When AI-generated images of the couple getting married went viral earlier this year, reportedly confusing Holland's own grandmother, he addressed the situation in his Esquire interview. Asked whether he had to reassure his family about the wedding, Holland kept it short.

"No, because they were all there. That's all you'll get on that."

Zendaya's stylist, Law Roach, had already let the cat out of the bag in March. "The wedding's already happened," Roach said. "You missed it."

Privacy in an age of AI fakes and tabloid leaks

The couple's approach to their personal life stands out in an entertainment culture that increasingly treats celebrity relationships as public property. Holland and Zendaya have managed to build enormous commercial success, *Brand New Day* is one of the highest-grossing films of the year, and pre-release tracking had projected a massive opening, without surrendering their private lives to fuel the publicity machine.

That the AI-generated wedding photos fooled even family members is a reminder of how easily fabricated content spreads. Zendaya has already been the target of viral AI-generated misinformation, including a fake "baby bump" photo that circulated widely online.

Zendaya, for her part, has spoken warmly about Holland without giving away much. "I love working with him. He's so talented and so passionate about what he does," she has said. "He always gives things 1,000 per cent, even if he's absolutely worn down. I really appreciate that about him."

Holland's professional calendar shows no signs of slowing. Beyond the Spider-Man franchise, he has taken on a Fred Astaire biopic in which he has vowed to perform every dance himself, a project that signals ambition well beyond the superhero genre.

The Sun noted it had approached representatives for both Holland and Zendaya for comment. No response was reported.

In a world where every private moment gets monetized, leaked, or deepfaked, two people who confiscated 250 phones and said their vows in the woods at sunset earned something rarer than a box office record: a wedding that actually belonged to them.
