A neighborhood cat slipped into a southeast London home, ate from the resident dog's bowl, and got chased out after the family pup spotted the raid on camera.

Home security footage shared by Ring UK & Ireland shows the uninvited feline walking into the house and helping itself to dog food like it owned the place. The resident dog, Rosie, was not amused.

UPI reported that the family was upstairs at the time and only learned what happened after Rosie started barking. They checked the Ring camera and found the whole scene recorded.

Myron Wallace, 40, lives in the southeast London home with his family and Rosie. He said the cat is a familiar neighborhood sight, but it had not come inside before.

Rosie goes full guard dog

The video description from Ring UK & Ireland captured the moment the tables turned.

Ring UK & Ireland described the clip this way:

"dog spotted the uninvited feline intruder from the stairs and launched into full guard-dog mode, barking and chasing the startled cat out in a flash"

Rosie saw the cat from the stairs, barked, and drove the startled animal out of the house. The barking is what finally got the family's attention upstairs.

No injuries, damage, or arrests were reported. The story is pure neighborhood mischief caught on camera and posted to YouTube.

Not the first cat to try its luck

Wallace said this was not even the first feline surprise at the house. During an earlier construction project, a different orange cat got inside. Workers assumed it lived there until Wallace and Rosie showed up and the cat fled.

So the latest visitor was following a local pattern: cats treat open access like an invitation, and Rosie treats the food bowl like her job.

The exact date and time of the latest raid were not given beyond the Oct. 13 report. How the cat got in, open door, gap, or something else, was not spelled out either. What is clear is the sequence on camera: enter, eat, get busted, exit fast.

In a city full of bigger headlines, a dog defending its dinner still lands. Property lines matter, even when the trespasser has four paws and a taste for kibble.
