Prince Andrew stripped of titles as daughters Beatrice, Eugenie leave country

Buckingham Palace has just dropped a bombshell that could shake the monarchy to its core.

In a stunning turn of events, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, has been stripped of all royal titles and evicted from his long-time residence at Royal Lodge, while his daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, have quietly slipped out of the U.K. amid the controversy, as the U.S. Sun reports.

The saga began with years of mounting pressure over Andrew’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein, a connection that has haunted the royal family with allegations of serious misconduct.

Andrew's fall from royal grace

Now 65, Andrew has lost the titles of Prince, Duke of York, Earl of Inverness, Baron Killyleagh, and the prestigious ‘His Royal Highness’ designation, along with honors like the Order of the Garter and Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order.

The King, with backing from Prince William, spearheaded this dramatic move, citing grave lapses in judgment, and Andrew is said to have accepted the decision, but did he have much choice?

He’s also been served formal notice to surrender his lease on Royal Lodge -- a sprawling 31-bedroom mansion where he’s lived rent-free for two decades -- and will relocate to the Sandringham Estate.

Royal Lodge eviction sparks tension

That lease, originally set to run until 2078, could net Andrew a hefty settlement for walking away early, though it’s hard to see this as anything but a public humiliation.

His ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, 66, who has resided at Royal Lodge since 2008 despite their 1996 divorce, is now left to sort out her own housing arrangements in the wake of this upheaval.

The decision comes after revelations from emails uncovered by The Sun on Sunday, showing Andrew continued contact with Epstein long after claiming to have cut ties in his infamous 2019 Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis.

Disturbing allegations resurface

Further damning evidence suggests Andrew attempted to discredit his accuser, Virginia Giuffre, by obtaining her personal details like her date of birth and Social Security number, even involving a taxpayer-funded bodyguard in what looks like a smear campaign.

Giuffre, who tragically took her own life in April, alleged in her posthumous biography that she was trafficked to Andrew for sex on three occasions. That's a claim he has consistently denied, insisting he never met her.

Palace sources claim the King acted partly to shield Andrew’s daughters, Princesses Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, 35, from the fallout, with Charles reportedly holding great affection for his nieces and ensuring their titles remain intact under King George V’s 1917 Letters Patent.

Daughters flee amid controversy

Yet, as the storm brewed, Beatrice was spotted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, smiling for photos at the Future Investment Initiative just before the Palace’s announcement, while Eugenie was seen enjoying a trip to Paris with friends last Sunday.

Emily Maitlis, reflecting on the News Agents podcast, hinted at the behind-the-scenes pressure, stating, “There was a question over whether there had been, earlier in the day, a meeting… between Prince William and the princesses, Beatrice and Eugenie, saying you guys have to got your dad to move out of Royal Lodge.”

One can’t help but raise an eyebrow at the timing. Did the princesses bolt to avoid the fallout, or were they nudged to push their father out before their own status came under scrutiny? While the Palace insists this is about accountability, not family vendettas, the optics of royal infighting are tough to ignore, especially when progressive narratives often paint these institutions as out-of-touch relics.
