The Oscar-winning actress told interviewers she rushes back to her two teenagers between scenes on Lioness, balancing a packed career with life as a newly single mother after her divorce from Keith Urban.

Nicole Kidman, 59, sat down with co-star Zoe Saldana for an interview with Extra ahead of the Season 3 premiere of their Paramount+ series Lioness. Kidman described a routine that sounds grueling even by Hollywood standards: she finishes her scenes and boards a plane home to her daughters Sunday, 18, and Faith, 15, rather than staying on location with the rest of the cast.

Saldana, 48, confirmed the habit and told Extra that while the Lioness ensemble built close bonds over multiple seasons, going to concerts together, riding horses, even celebrating Thanksgiving as a group, Kidman's priority was always clear.

"Nicole would if she was there, but as soon as Nicole finishes, she flies home to her family. And it's so beautiful to see, too."

Kidman did not frame it as sacrifice. She framed it as math.

"I go home to my family. I've got one child in junior year and one who's a freshman. So, I was like, 'Okay, I got to be there taking care,' you know? Multitasking, right?"

Divorce, custody, and a mother's schedule

The comments carry more weight given what Kidman has navigated over the past year. She and country music star Keith Urban, 58, separated in September 2025 after 19 years of marriage. Their divorce was finalized in January, and Kidman retained primary residential custody of both girls.

That arrangement means the logistics fall largely on her. Kidman has spoken publicly about the weight of that responsibility. In an October 2025 interview with Harper's Bazaar, she described her daughters as giving her a sense of purpose.

"My children (give me the) purpose of being their protector and their guide, promising them that I'm here and that, no matter what, there's always a safe place to grow up in."

On her first Mother's Day as a single mom, Kidman posted a throwback photo on Instagram showing her giving Sunday and Faith a piggyback ride. The caption was brief: "To my beautiful girls, the greatest joy is being your mother. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers in the world."

She also told People that the family has its own low-tech ritual for rough patches, watching and reenacting the comedy Bridesmaids together in the kitchen. "We watch it, we recite it, we act it out," Kidman said. "That is our go-to savior film to pull us out of a funk."

Sunday walks runways while Faith stays out of the spotlight

Both daughters are finding their own paths, though at different speeds. Sunday, now 18, has launched a career in high-fashion modeling. She made her runway debut at 16 during Paris Fashion Week in October 2024, walking for Miu Miu, and has continued appearing at major events since.

Faith, 15, keeps a lower profile. Her most public moment came in June 2025, when she made a rare on-screen cameo alongside her mother in a luxury beauty campaign. Beyond that, she has stayed largely out of view, a choice that, given Kidman's own comments about protection and stability, appears deliberate.

Kidman also has two older children, Bella, 33, and Connor, 31, from her earlier marriage to Tom Cruise. The interview with Extra focused on her younger daughters and the day-to-day realities of parenting them through high school while maintaining one of the busiest careers in entertainment. Her recent credits include Babygirl, A Family Affair, Expats, The Perfect Couple, and Scarpetta, on top of Lioness.

A new relationship surfaces in Los Angeles

Kidman's personal life has drawn fresh attention for another reason. She has been spotted in Los Angeles with Michael Reinstein, a Beverly Hills-based businessman who works in private equity. The Daily Mail obtained photographs of the two getting cozy, and Reinstein was seen picking Kidman up from the airport after she flew into Los Angeles on a private jet. Earlier in the same week, Kidman was photographed riding in Reinstein's Ferrari around the city.

An anonymous source told the online gossip site DeuxMoi that "the relationship has been quietly developing for the past few months and the pair have been keeping things extremely low-key and largely out of the public eye." Kidman has not publicly confirmed the relationship, and Reinstein has not commented.

Meanwhile, Kidman brought Sunday and Faith along on an Italian getaway, another sign that wherever her personal life heads next, the girls remain at the center of it.

Lioness Season 3 premieres on Paramount+ this Sunday.

In a culture that treats celebrity parenting as a brand exercise, Kidman's approach is refreshingly plain: finish the work, get on the plane, be home when the kids need you. That used to be called common sense. It still is.
