In a stunning turn of events, María Corina Machado, a tireless Venezuelan freedom fighter, has been named the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize recipient, and she’s dedicating the honor to none other than President Donald Trump, as Breitbart reports.

This award, announced on Friday morning in Oslo, recognizes Machado’s decades-long battle for democratic rights and a peaceful transition from dictatorship in Venezuela, alongside her bold dedication to challenging oppressive systems.

Machado’s journey hasn’t been easy, as she’s endured physical assaults by socialist mobs since Nicolás Maduro seized power in 2013, including a brutal tear gas attack in 2014 while entering her office in the Venezuelan National Assembly.

Machado’s resilience against tyranny

By 2018, she faced further violence, beaten with sticks by a mob, yet her resolve never wavered as she continued to advocate for Venezuela’s liberation from a regime she describes as a criminal enterprise.

The Maduro regime, tied to the notorious Cartel de los Soles and the violent transnational gang Tren de Aragua, has wreaked havoc not just in Venezuela but across North America with drug trafficking and chaos in late 2023.

Machado herself has called out this corruption, stating, “Venezuela has been hijacked by a gang that is connected to drug cartels and to the enemies of the United States, such as Iran, Hezbollah, China, and so on” (María Corina Machado).

Trump’s support bolsters Venezuelan opposition

Enter President Trump, whose administration has taken decisive action by cutting revenue streams from rogue allies like China and Iran to Maduro’s regime, a move Machado credits for weakening the dictatorship’s grip.

Trump didn’t stop there; in 2025, he launched an anti-drug military campaign in international waters off Venezuela to intercept shipments from groups like Tren de Aragua, striking at the heart of Maduro’s criminal network.

Machado, speaking on Donald Trump, Jr.’s podcast Triggered in February, praised this approach, saying, “There is a very strong new administration that had the correct vision on how to address a criminal structure” (María Corina Machado).

Nobel win sparks global reaction

The Norwegian Nobel Committee lauded Machado for her advocacy, though it conspicuously avoided naming socialism or Maduro as the forces repressing her, a curious omission for such a politically charged struggle.

Conservative leaders worldwide celebrated her win on Friday, hailing her as a “well-deserved” laureate for standing firm against tyranny, a sentiment echoing the frustration many feel with progressive excuses for failed regimes.

On the flip side, Pablo Iglesias, a former Iranian propaganda host and ex-leader of Spain’s Marxist party Podemos, sneered at the award with a sarcastic jab, suggesting it might as well have gone to Trump or even worse figures from history.

Machado’s dedication stirs the pot

While Iglesias’s bitter quip misses the mark, Machado’s dedication of the prize to Trump has raised eyebrows, though it’s hard to argue with her gratitude given the administration’s tangible support against Maduro’s thuggery.

Now in hiding for her safety, Machado remains a beacon of hope for Venezuelans, having purged much of the socialist baggage from the opposition to focus on a unified fight for freedom.

Her courage, paired with international backing from leaders like Trump -- who himself has been endorsed for the Nobel by nations from Israel to Rwanda for brokering peace in global conflicts -- paints a picture of a shifting tide against oppression, one that’s long overdue for Venezuela.
