Two 25-year-olds in Fort Pierce, Florida, face criminal charges after deputies say they were caught firing multiple weapons while drinking alcohol on a Saturday night.
Tiffany Rose Lindo and Jacob Roibert Mills, both 25 and both of Fort Pierce, were arrested by the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office after officers responded to reports of active gunfire at approximately 9 p.m. Saturday. Deputies found the pair allegedly discharging firearms, and drinking, near their home, the New York Post reported.
No one was injured. But the arsenal deputies recovered told the story on its own: an AR-style semiautomatic rifle, a shotgun, a semiautomatic handgun, and a derringer-style pistol, four firearms in total, allegedly handled by two people who had been consuming alcohol before and during the shooting.
Both Lindo and Mills were charged with discharging a firearm in a public or residential area and using a firearm while under the influence of alcohol. The sheriff's office shared photos of the seized weapons on Facebook, along with images of both suspects grinning in the back of a squad car after their arrest.
The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office did not hold back in a public Facebook statement about the arrests. The agency opened its post with a blunt warning:
"A BAD COMBINATION, A WORSE DECISION: Firearms and alcohol. Two things that should never be part of the same plan."
The sheriff's office described the couple's activity in plain terms, noting that the gunfire was directed at the ground, as if that made it safe. The statement made clear that deputies saw it differently:
"While shooting into the ground may have seemed like a good idea to those involved, adding alcohol and multiple firearms to the equation is not a combination that ends well."
The agency closed with a direct appeal to anyone else who might consider mixing booze and bullets:
"If you are drinking, do not handle or discharge a firearm. Put the firearm away, leave it alone, and make the responsible choice."
Photos the sheriff's office posted showed Lindo and Mills smiling broadly in the back of a patrol car, not exactly the picture of remorse. The images circulated alongside the photo of the four confiscated firearms laid out by deputies.
Several details remain unclear. The sheriff's office did not disclose whether the firearms were legally owned or registered to either suspect. No information about bail, bond, or a court date appeared in the initial report. It is also unclear who called in the complaint, whether a neighbor, a passerby, or someone else heard the gunfire and dialed 911.
Fort Pierce sits along Florida's Treasure Coast, a stretch of communities on the state's Atlantic side north of West Palm Beach. St. Lucie County, where the city is located, is a mix of suburban neighborhoods and rural land, the kind of place where a shotgun blast on a Saturday night gets noticed fast.
Responsible gun owners know that firearms demand sobriety, discipline, and respect for the people who live next door. Lindo and Mills, if the charges hold, showed none of the three, and no amount of grinning in the squad car changes that.
