First lady Melania Trump has just dropped a legal bombshell on Hunter Biden that could cost him a cool billion.
In a stunning clash of high-profile figures, Melania Trump, through her attorney Alejandro Brito, has demanded Hunter Biden retract what she calls false and defamatory claims about her connection to Jeffrey Epstein, while threatening a lawsuit for over $1 billion in damages if he refuses to comply, as Fox News reports.
The drama kicked off in early August 2025 when Biden appeared in a YouTube video interview titled "Hunter Biden Returns" on Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan, casually tossing out a bombshell claim.
Biden alleged that Epstein played matchmaker between Melania and Donald Trump, a statement that Brito slammed as "extremely salacious" and utterly unfounded.
"Epstein introduced Melania to Trump," Biden claimed with the confidence of a man who’s never heard of fact-checking. If only accountability came with a receipt, Hunter -- because this whopper is already costing reputations.
On Aug. 6, Brito fired off a letter to Biden and his attorney Abbe Lowell, demanding a full retraction of the video, a public apology as prominent as the original claim, and a warning of severe legal consequences if ignored.
The deadline for compliance was set for Aug. 7 at 5:00 p.m. EST, with Brito making it crystal clear: fail to act, and Melania Trump will pursue damages exceeding $1 billion. "You are on notice," Brito warned, leaving no room for misinterpretation.
Yet, according to a source close to the matter, Biden missed the deadline without so much as a peep of apology or retraction. Worse, the source claims Biden’s team leaked the legal letter to a sympathetic reporter, though details on who or where remain murky.
Brito’s letter didn’t mince words, accusing Biden of causing "overwhelming financial and reputational harm" to the first lady by spreading claims that have reached tens of millions via digital platforms and media reposts. This isn’t just a personal jab -- it’s a viral smear campaign in the digital age.
The attorney also pointed out that Biden’s supposed source, Michael Wolff, is a "serial fabulist" whose related article in The Daily Beast was already retracted after a cease-and-desist demand. The Daily Beast even issued an apology to Melania Trump, admitting their error and scrubbing the story entirely from their site.
"After reviewing the matter, the Beast has taken down the article and apologizes for any confusion," read their editor’s note. If only Biden could take a hint from a media outlet with enough sense to correct the record.
Democrat political strategist James Carville also backpedaled after echoing similar nonsense, issuing an apology, pulling a related YouTube video, and editing comments from his podcast Politics War Room. Clearly, some folks understand the weight of words—too bad Biden’s still playing catch-up.
Brito’s letter went further, instructing Biden not to tamper with any records or communications related to these claims, hinting at a deep dive into evidence if litigation proceeds. This isn’t just a warning -- it’s a blueprint for a legal battle of epic proportions.
Attempts to get comments from Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan, as well as Biden and his attorney, have yielded nothing but silence, per Fox News Digital’s outreach. Meanwhile, a source close to the situation noted that this standoff "shows how deeply concerned they are about Hunter's serious liability for spreading defamatory lies."
Perhaps it’s time for Biden to realize that words have consequences, even in a world obsessed with progressive excuses over personal responsibility.
