Evander Holyfield set to join Trump at Clemson rally for Sen. Darline Graham

Boxing great Evander Holyfield will stand with President Donald Trump in Clemson, South Carolina, as Trump backs Sen. Darline Graham in a final midterm push.

The 64-year-old former heavyweight champion is scheduled to appear Wednesday afternoon at the campaign rally Trump is hosting in Clemson to support the Republican senator, Breitbart News reported.

Holyfield has long been an avid friend and supporter of the president. He appeared on stage with Trump in Florida in 2018 and has often spoken about that support.

Trump has been a strong backer of Graham. He supported her appointment to fill out the unfinished term of her brother, Lyndsay, after his death in June, and he has backed her run for a full term this year. Graham is now seeking election in her own right.

Holyfield’s ring record still draws a crowd

Holyfield remains one of the most recognizable names in boxing. He beat Mike Tyson twice. Their 1997 Las Vegas bout ended with Tyson biting Holyfield’s ear, a foul that brought Tyson a $3 million fine and a suspension from boxing.

In 2021, Holyfield fought Vitor Belfort. Belfort won by TKO. Don Trump Jr. provided commentary on that bout.

Tyson himself has recently appeared with Trump. Earlier this month, Tyson took the stage next to the president at a rally in Albany, New York.

Holyfield’s planned stop in Clemson fits the same pattern: a well-known fighter willing to stand publicly with Trump as the midterm campaign enters its closing stretch.

The rally is part of Trump’s final push in the midterm elections. No venue beyond Clemson was named, and no direct quotes from Holyfield, Trump, or Graham on the appearance were released in the initial report.

When a former heavyweight champion keeps showing up for a president who keeps showing up for his allies, voters notice who still values loyalty.
