Brooklyn Beckham and wife Nicola Peltz traded yacht life for a stay at godfather Elton John's $20 million villa in Nice, just days after narrowly crossing paths with David and Victoria Beckham on the same stretch of French coastline.
The 27-year-old Beckham heir and his 31-year-old wife shared photos from the estate on Instagram, showing the couple lounging on the grounds, posing with the 79-year-old music legend, and taking in the property's lily pond and outdoor tennis courts. Elton John's husband, David Furnish, 63, left comments on both Brooklyn's and Nicola's posts confirming the visit.
The villa stay came after a stint aboard Elton John's super yacht off St. Tropez, the same waters where David and Victoria Beckham were anchored on their own vessel. Both parties went ashore separately for shopping and dining, and The Sun reported the two Beckham factions were photographed on dry land just minutes apart. Whether they actually ran into each other remains unclear.
The near-encounter matters because Brooklyn Beckham is not speaking to his parents. He has accused David, 51, and Victoria, 52, of "hijacking" his April 2022 wedding to Nicola Peltz in Palm Beach and of prioritizing "Brand Beckham" over their own family. Brooklyn has also alleged that Victoria pulled out of making Nicola's wedding dress at the last minute.
The dispute escalated beyond holiday awkwardness. Brooklyn served his parents with a legal notice directing them to contact him only through his lawyers. No court, jurisdiction, or filing date has been publicly identified.
An anonymous source cited by the Daily Mail painted the split as long-standing:
"Indeed, relations had become so fraught between Brooklyn and his parents, because of tensions with his fiancee Nicola, that I can reveal that they weren't actually on speaking terms for some three months before the young couple married in Palm Beach, in April 2022."
Neither David nor Victoria Beckham has publicly responded to the wedding-dress allegation or the broader claim that they hijacked the ceremony.
If there is tension between the elder Beckhams and their eldest son, Elton John and David Furnish appear content to stay close to Brooklyn. Furnish commented on Brooklyn's Instagram post with warmth.
"So lovely having you both to stay with us......"
On Nicola's separate collection of photos from the trip, Furnish added:
"Such a lovely time we all spent together."
Brooklyn's Instagram photos showed him lying on the villa's grass and smiling beside Nicola. Nicola, the American actress, posted images of herself with her arm wrapped around Elton John, along with shots of the estate's grounds. The villa in Nice is valued at roughly £15 million, about $20 million.
Elton John has been Brooklyn's godfather since birth, a relationship that predates and apparently survives the family fracture. The elder Beckhams and Elton John have long moved in the same social circles, which makes the French Riviera geography all the more loaded: two branches of the same extended network, on the same coastline, at the same time, aboard different boats.
Family feuds play out in every tax bracket. But when the estranged parties are sunbathing minutes apart on the Côte d'Azur and communicating through lawyers, the dysfunction is hard to miss, no matter how expensive the backdrop.
