Britney Spears says botched Botox left her eye drooping for a month

Britney Spears told fans an unnamed doctor injected so much Botox near her left eye that it drooped for four weeks, and warned women to "be careful" with cosmetic providers they trust.

The 44-year-old pop star posted a video to Instagram showing herself in a plunging red top, black cowboy hat, and choker-style necklace, holding her eye open while she spoke directly to the camera. She said the eyelid had only recently begun returning to normal after a month of visible drooping caused by the procedure.

Spears did not name the provider. She referred to him only as "he" and offered no details about when or where the injections took place. But she left little ambiguity about how she felt, captioning the post: "You can't trust anyone!!!"

Spears blames the provider and tells fans to protect themselves

In the video, Spears described the complication bluntly:

"He put so much Botox in this left eye that it drooped down like that."

She added that the drooping had persisted for roughly a month before she saw improvement.

"My eye was down like this for four weeks and it's now starting to be fine again."

Spears then turned the video into a direct warning, addressing women who use or consider cosmetic injectables:

"Girls, you have to be careful if you do Botox, these people and these doctors can really f*** your eyes up."

She went further, urging fans not to let providers push unnecessary changes.

"Be careful with these people, they try to change your face, they try to f*** things up."

"Be careful with your bodies because it's yours and you own it."

No medical professional has publicly confirmed the cause of the drooping or commented on Spears's account. Whether she has pursued, or plans to pursue, any formal complaint or legal action against the unnamed provider remains unknown.

A candid moment in a week of headline-grabbing posts

The Botox disclosure came after a week in which Spears had already drawn attention with a string of risqué dance videos on the same platform. Those clips included twerking in a cropped pink T-shirt and mini black shorts to "Mi Gente," dancing outside in a bikini, and a topless video with symbols edited over her body.

The cosmetic-complication video struck a different tone, less performance, more personal frustration. Spears spoke plainly, held her affected eye for the camera, and aimed her criticism squarely at the provider rather than the procedure itself.

Eyelid drooping after Botox, known medically as ptosis, is a recognized complication that can occur when the injectable migrates or is placed improperly near the muscles controlling the upper eyelid. It typically resolves on its own over several weeks, consistent with the timeline Spears described.

Spears said her eye was "starting to raise up and be normal again" at the time she recorded the video, though she did not confirm a full recovery.

When someone with a platform that large tells millions of followers to second-guess the person holding the needle, it is worth hearing, not because celebrities deserve more sympathy than anyone else, but because the warning applies to every patient who walks into a cosmetic office trusting a provider's judgment with their face.
