Ashley Biden, daughter of former President Joe Biden, has dropped a bombshell by filing for divorce from her husband of 13 years, Dr. Howard Krein, in a Philadelphia court.

In a nutshell, Ashley, 44, cited an “irretrievably broken” marriage in her no-fault divorce filing, which came hot on the heels of eyebrow-raising social media posts hinting at infidelity and emotional turmoil, as the New York Post reports.

The saga began with a now-deleted Instagram story from Ashley showing a man and woman holding hands, captioned with a pointed jab: “My husband and his girlfriend.”

Ashley’s social media sparks controversy

That same post was paired with a track by Notorious B.I.G. and Lil’ Kim, featuring the biting line, “What do you do when your man is untrue?” Well, apparently, you file for divorce and let the world know you’re not playing around, though one wonders if airing such personal laundry online is the classiest move in a world obsessed with oversharing.

Shortly after, Ashley yanked the post down, perhaps realizing that some battles are better fought behind closed doors rather than on the progressive playground of social media.

Not done yet, she followed up with another fleeting Instagram story, strolling through a park with a thumbs-up, soundtracked by Beyoncé’s “Freedom,” as if to say she’s breaking free from more than just a bad playlist.

Emotional posts hint at new beginnings

Then came a reposted quote about “new life, new beginnings,” set to Lauryn Hill’s “Freedom Time,” with Ashley seemingly embracing a fresh start—though one might question if these cryptic posts are more about public sympathy than personal healing.

“New life, new beginnings means new boundaries,” the quote read, and while it’s a nice sentiment, it’s hard not to see this as a curated cry for attention in an era where every emotion must be broadcast for likes.

Turning to the legal side, Ashley’s filing isn’t just about cutting ties—it’s about securing spousal support, claiming she’s “unable to sustain herself” during the divorce process, per court documents.

Divorce filing reveals financial struggles

She’s also stated the couple is living “separate and apart,” painting a picture of a marriage long past its expiration date, though one can’t help but wonder why financial dependency is the narrative when personal empowerment is so often preached by her political circle.

Neither Ashley nor Howard, 58, a respected otolaryngologist from New Jersey, responded to requests for comment, leaving the public to piece together this messy puzzle through court filings and deleted posts.

Rewind to happier times, and you’ll find Ashley and Howard tying the knot in 2012 at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Roman Catholic Church in Greenville, Delaware, blending her traditions with his Jewish heritage in a ceremony that screamed unity.

A once-happy union under scrutiny

They met two years earlier through Ashley’s late brother, Beau, who tragically passed from cancer in 2015, and Howard popped the question in 2011 during a romantic getaway in Big Sur, California.

The wedding reception for around 200 guests unfolded at the Biden family’s lakeside home in Wilmington, Delaware, with then-Vice President Joe Biden personally sprucing up the place, showing a father’s pride -- though today, that pride must be tinged with disappointment over this public fallout.

At last year’s Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Ashley reminisced about her wedding day, sharing her father’s touching words, “Before he walked me down the aisle, he turned to me and said he would always be my best friend,” a memory now overshadowed by a marriage’s bitter end.
