Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein are again facing dating speculation after a Page Six report of a casual relationship, months after both rejected the idea on national television.
USA TODAY reported that Lopez and Goldstein are back in the rumor cycle following a Page Six claim they are in a “casual” relationship. The outlet said it reached out to representatives for both actors for comment.
The fresh round of chatter lands months after the pair shut down similar talk while promoting their Netflix film “Office Romance.” On a June 2 appearance on “Today,” host Savannah Guthrie raised the possibility of an offscreen romance. Lopez did not treat the rumor as fact.
She told Guthrie a rumor “doesn’t make it true,” and described a pattern she says follows her career.
"There's never a time when I'm seen with somebody or working with somebody where they don't try to put me with the person,"
Goldstein, seated with her, offered a dry reply of his own.
"I think if you stand near her, that's what happened,"
Lopez and Goldstein costarred in “Office Romance,” which arrived on Netflix in June. She plays airline CEO Jackie Cruz. He plays lawyer Daniel Blanchflower. Ol Parker directed. Goldstein co-wrote the script with Joe Kelly.
Goldstein has said the idea took shape on a three-hour train ride. Speaking on the “Skip Intro” podcast with Krista Smith, he described wanting an old-school romantic comedy with harder jokes, then landing on Lopez as the lead.
"We were like, 'Who’s the best rom-com actor to do it with?' We both were like, 'JLo.'... She's got industrial levels of charm."
In a September 2025 interview with USA TODAY, Goldstein called the shoot “a dream” while labeling outdoor filming “a nightmare,” joking that any future project with Lopez would stay indoors with “no exterior shots.” Much of the production drew attention in Hoboken, New Jersey, where paparazzi tracked outdoor scenes.
Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck in August 2024 after two years of marriage. The divorce was finalized in 2025. Their on-and-off relationship had spanned more than two decades, with a first engagement in 2002, a split in 2004, a reunion in 2021, and a wedding the following year.
Before Affleck, Lopez was married to singer Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014. The couple welcomed twins Max and Emme in 2008; the twins are now 18.
Goldstein has never been married. He previously dated British actress and comedian Beth Rylance and publicly confirmed that relationship during a 2021 Emmys acceptance speech, telling her, “Beth, I love you.” People later reported the pair had split.
None of that personal history answers the current Page Six claim. USA TODAY’s account does not detail where Lopez and Goldstein were supposedly seen together, what sources Page Six used, or whether either side has issued a fresh on-record reply beyond the June “Today” exchange. The June comments remain the clearest public statements on the rumor itself.
Hollywood still sells tickets on chemistry and still fills columns by treating every costar pairing like a private life reveal. Lopez already said the link-up routine is automatic. The record so far shows a report, a prior denial, and no new confirmation from either camp.
When the cameras stop, the rumor mill rarely does, and accountability for thin claims still trails the headlines that carry them.
