Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco has announced the birth of her second child after a quiet pregnancy, saying her family with fiancé Tommy Pelphrey is now complete.
The 40-year-old actress shared the news on Instagram with photos from a hospital bed, the sleeping newborn, and the couple’s first joint family snap. The Sun reported that Cuoco named the baby Philomena Carmine Bobby Pelphrey and posted a caption date of 10/12/26.
She called the arrival a blessing and said the household is finished. The couple already has a three-year-old daughter, Matilda. Fans of the long-running sitcom know Cuoco as Penny; she has also voiced Harley Quinn in animation.
Cuoco did not leave much room for doubt about how she felt. In the Instagram caption she wrote the full name first, then the gratitude.
She said:
"There are no words to describe this feeling once again. What a blessing."
She followed that with the line that closed the chapter:
"We are so grateful for the crazy wild up and down journey that brought us to our little Philo! Family officially complete."
She tagged Pelphrey and cast him as “girl daddy,” telling followers it was time to bring Matilda’s baby home. Life, she wrote, “exploded the minute we met, and the gifts keep coming.”
A source who spoke to People.com, as relayed in the same coverage, said the couple picks middle names to honor relatives. Carmine nods to Cuoco’s father. Bobby nods to Pelphrey’s side. The source added that they love classic, vintage names and that “Philo” fit.
Instagram commenters piled on with praise. One called the baby “gorgeous like her Momma.” Another simply wrote, “She’s perfection.”
The path was not a straight line. In 2018, Cuoco told Entertainment Tonight her career still came first, even as she said she loved kids and expected to have them someday.
She said then:
"I’m not quite there yet but I know that I will be ’cause I love kids... I’m a worker bee right now, kind of my career is my focus and my husband. But we love kids and we love animals. So we’re meant to have children."
In April 2022 she announced the end of her second marriage, to Karl Cook. She and Pelphrey moved fast after that. Their first pregnancy came about six months after they started dating. They went public with that expectation in October 2022. Matilda arrived from that chapter. Philomena makes two.
Birth city, hospital, and delivery details were not part of the public post. What Cuoco put forward was the name, the date string in the caption, the hospital-bed photos, and the plain claim that the family is complete.
Two daughters, a fiancé she calls girl daddy, and a public thank-you for the messy road that got them there, that is the whole announcement, and it does not need a committee to explain it.
