Mia Goth has filed for divorce from Shia LaBeouf after a decade of marriage, seeking primary custody of their young daughter while the actor has already conceded he failed the relationship.
Page Six obtained the filing and confirmed that the “Pearl” actress submitted divorce papers Tuesday night, citing irreconcilable differences and listing a separation date of July 28, 2025.
TMZ was first to report the split paperwork. Goth, 32, is asking for primary legal and physical custody of the couple’s 4-year-old daughter, Isabel. She also asked that neither side receive spousal support.
The documents close a long, unstable chapter for two working actors whose relationship never stayed simple for long.
Goth and LaBeouf met while shooting “Nymphomaniac: Volume II,” the film that marked her big-screen debut. They were a couple on and off since 2012, married in 2016, split about two years later, and reconciled by 2020. Their daughter arrived in 2022.
That is the public timeline. The private one, by LaBeouf’s own account, was messier.
In March, the 40-year-old “Transformers” and “Holes” star sat down on “Channel 5 With Andrew Callaghan” and described a marriage already past repair. He did not blame the press. He blamed himself.
"We were deeply unhappy."
LaBeouf said the damage started well before parenthood.
"I made a lot of mistakes early on before we tried to have a baby. I had violated trust in a big, big way."
He called the problems “impossible” to fix and said neither of them wanted to “be unhappy around a baby.” He also said he had “failed” the marriage.
Even while conceding the collapse, LaBeouf spoke about his wife in absolute terms.
"That’s one of the best girls that ever lived. She’s incredible, that woman. Incredible... all the time. 10 out of 10."
On co-parenting, he struck a calmer note: “We’re in a good spot. I mean, this isn’t new... We’ve been there for a while. We’re trying to figure out co-parenting, and we’re good. Even through all this, she gives me grace.”
Page Six reported in February that the pair had already been separated for months and kept it quiet. An insider said LaBeouf relocated to New Orleans after the breakup to be closer to family. He was later arrested there after a drunken brawl during Mardi Gras.
Goth’s filing now puts the custody terms in writing. She wants primary legal and physical custody of Isabel. She is not seeking money from him, and she is not offering it either.
A decade of vows, a listed separation date, and a court paper that finally matches what both sides had already been living: that is the record as it stands. Personal chaos still lands hardest on the child in the middle, and no Hollywood statement changes that.
