The "Stranger Things" actress and her husband have quietly expanded their family again through adoption, less than a year after welcoming their first daughter at age 21.
Millie Bobby Brown, 22, and Jake Bongiovi, 24, welcomed a second child through adoption, Page Six reported, citing a People magazine report that relied on an unnamed source close to the couple. No details about the child's age, sex, or background have been disclosed publicly.
The news landed Thursday, days after Brown posted a carousel of photos and videos on Instagram that gave fans a rare look at the couple's first daughter. Sharp-eyed followers noticed Bongiovi wearing a baby carrier in one clip, and speculation about a second child followed almost immediately.
Brown and Bongiovi started dating in 2021. They got engaged roughly two years later and married in a low-key ceremony in the Hamptons in May 2024. About four months after that, the couple held a lavish second wedding in Italy.
By August 2025, they had adopted their first daughter. The couple released a joint statement at the time:
"We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy."
They have kept that promise. Brown, the Emmy-nominated star of "Stranger Things" and the "Enola Holmes" films, has deliberately shielded her daughter from the spotlight. In a November 2025 interview with British Vogue, she explained her reasoning plainly:
"For me, it's really important to protect her and her story until she's old enough to potentially one day share it herself. It's not my place to purposefully put her in the spotlight unwillingly. If she chooses to share her personality one day with the world, like I did when I was young, that's something we'd support."
The couple has not publicly revealed their first daughter's name. Fans speculated it might be "Ruth" after Brown wore a necklace bearing that name in a May Instagram post, but neither parent has confirmed it.
Becoming a mother at 21 drew public scrutiny, the kind that arrives fast and unsolicited on social media. Brown addressed it head-on during a June appearance on Kylie Kelce's "Not Gonna Lie" podcast:
"For everybody who was like, 'Oh my God, a 21-year-old mom. Oh my gosh, how could she?' I'm having the most amazing time."
She and Bongiovi, she said, talk about the change parenthood brought in vivid terms:
"My husband and I say this all the time: It's like going from black and white to color."
Page Six reported that it reached out to representatives for the couple but did not indicate whether it received a response.
In a culture that often tells young people to delay every commitment, two twenty-somethings building a family through adoption, twice, and doing it quietly, on purpose, is the kind of story that deserves more applause than side-eye.
