Dave Coulier, 66, danced backstage at a fan convention with his old Full House castmates, six months after announcing his second cancer was in remission and more than 45 pounds lighter from treatment.
The reunion unfolded at Nostalgia Con in Orlando, Florida, where Coulier joined John Stamos, Lori Loughlin, Jodie Sweetin, and Andrea Barber for a TikTok video that showed the group lined up backstage, bobbing their heads one by one to C+C Music Factory's "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)" before breaking into full dance moves. Stamos, 62, posted the clip to his TikTok account with a caption that read, "Threw our necks out for this."
For Coulier, the lighthearted moment capped a brutal stretch. The actor, best known for playing Joey Gladstone on the ABC sitcom and later its Netflix sequel, as well as voicing characters on "Muppet Babies" and hosting "America's Funniest People", has fought two unrelated cancers since late 2024. That he was on his feet dancing at all marks a turn that would have been hard to predict a year ago.
Coulier revealed his Stage 3 non-Hodgkin's lymphoma diagnosis on NBC's "Today" in November 2024. He described the shock in blunt terms:
"Punched in the stomach because it never happens to you. You always hear about it happening to someone else."
By March, he told the public he was cancer-free after finishing chemotherapy. That relief was short-lived.
In December 2025, Coulier returned to "Today" to announce an entirely new cancer, this time in his tongue. He made clear the two diagnoses were medically distinct.
"It's totally unrelated to my non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. This is a new cancer. I said, 'Are you kidding me?'"
Coulier said doctors told him the tongue cancer could stem from an HPV virus contracted as long as 30 years earlier, which may have "activated and turned into a carcinoma." He added that the cancer was "very treatable," with a curability rate of about 90 percent.
Coulier announced on "Good Morning America" in February that his tongue cancer had entered remission. He called the ordeal a "roller-coaster ride" of "two different cancers in two years."
Remission did not mean recovery was over. In May, Coulier posted an Instagram Reel addressing fans who had noticed changes in his appearance and voice.
"I haven't posted in quite a while, and the last time I did, some of you said that I look differently and I sound differently, and I do. What you're seeing is the side effects of extensive radiation that I went through carcinoma in my throat."
He said he had not been able to eat solid food "in months." Combined with the toll of chemotherapy for his earlier lymphoma, Coulier has lost more than 45 pounds through his cancer treatments.
The Nostalgia Con reunion is the latest in a string of public gatherings that underscore the Full House cast's real-life closeness, a bond tested repeatedly by loss and hardship. In early 2022, the group came together at a '90s Con event in Hartford, Connecticut, just two months after co-star Bob Saget was found dead in his Orlando hotel room on January 9, 2022, at age 65. Authorities believe Saget struck his head on a marble bathroom floor.
Coulier himself described the bond at the time: "We're so close, that whenever and wherever we get together it's like a family reunion." The cast released a joint statement after Saget's death calling him "a brother to us guys, a father to us girls and a friend to all of us."
That same instinct, rally around each other when it counts, appears to have carried into the Orlando convention. Coulier's castmates did not issue public statements about his health at the event, but the TikTok video itself made a point without words: a 66-year-old man who has lost 45 pounds and cannot eat solid food, grinning and dancing alongside friends who have known him for four decades.
Some things in American life still work the way they are supposed to. Old friends showing up when times are hard is one of them.
