Dispatch recordings from Tuesday night logged a "suicide attempt" at celebrity blogger Perez Hilton's Miami home, where deputies spent nearly four hours trying to reach the 48-year-old father of three before finally entering the residence.
Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to Hilton's home after receiving multiple calls from people who reported someone livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media, Page Six reported Wednesday. The outlet obtained 911 dispatch audio and Ring doorbell surveillance footage that together paint a picture of a prolonged emergency response stretching from early evening well past 11 p.m.
Hilton, born Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., was eventually recovered from the home, transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital, and is receiving medical attention. His representatives said Wednesday they had no additional confirmed information about his condition.
Surveillance footage shows police cruisers with sirens arriving at Hilton's Miami address at roughly 7:10 p.m. Tuesday. More officers arrived about fifteen minutes later to attempt entry. A deputy can be heard on the Ring doorbell footage addressing Hilton directly:
"Mario, it's the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, please step out of the house."
Hilton did not come out. The dispatch call was not formally logged until 10:41 p.m., more than three hours after the first patrol cars arrived, when it was recorded as a "suicide attempt." Multiple units, including fire rescue, responded to what dispatch described as an "active police scene." Additional units were told to stand by.
At approximately 11 p.m., responders were finally able to make entry into the house with police. Ring doorbell footage still showed officials on scene at 11:11 p.m., roughly four hours after the first deputies pulled up.
Page Six said the dispatch audio contained a graphic description of self-harm attempts but chose not to publish those details.
An unnamed source told Page Six that Hilton was alone in the house during the incident. Breitbart reported that the TikTok video appeared to show Hilton covered in blood with cuts on his arms and torso, holding what appeared to be a knife. The multiple calls to authorities came from people who had seen the livestream.
Hilton has three children, Mario, 13; Mia, 11; and Mayte, 8. It is not clear from available reporting where his children were at the time of the incident.
The Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office confirmed the outcome in a statement to Page Six:
"The individual has been safely recovered and transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital, where he is receiving medical attention."
The sheriff's office added that its Crisis Response Unit and licensed mental health professionals were on scene providing support and resources to Hilton's family.
Hilton's talent management firm, Golden Artists Entertainment, issued a statement Tuesday acknowledging the situation. Co-CEOs Dante Rusciolelli and Rebekah Kochan said they were aware of "concerning content circulating online" involving their client.
"At this time, we have not been able to make direct contact with him, despite our ongoing efforts to reach him. Our primary concern is Perez's health and well-being, as well as the well-being of his family."
By Wednesday, the firm's tone had not changed much. Representatives told Page Six they still had no additional confirmed information about Hilton's condition and asked for privacy while he receives care.
"We are grateful for the outpouring of concern and support from fans, friends and members of the media. We respectfully ask that everyone continue to honor his privacy while he receives the care he needs."
The episode follows a difficult stretch for Hilton. In March, he was hospitalized after taking flu medication on an empty stomach, which led to an ulcer, then a perforation, then sepsis. He spent roughly three weeks in the hospital. The following month, he underwent emergency surgery for what he described as a "massive" blood clot.
After recovering, Hilton spoke publicly about finding God, calling his survival "miraculous."
Several key questions remain unanswered. Authorities have not disclosed which social media platform hosted the livestream, though Breitbart identified it as TikTok, and the hospital where Hilton is being treated has not been named. His representatives have offered no update on his medical status beyond confirming he is receiving care.
