Brianna LaPaglia levels pointed accusations at Jelly Roll over divorce from Bunnie Xo

Podcast host Brianna "Chickenfry" LaPaglia used her platform to publicly challenge the sincerity of Bunnie Xo's well wishes toward estranged husband Jelly Roll, and to offer her own blunt theory about why the country music star filed for divorce after nearly a decade of marriage.

On a Sunday episode of her "Plan Bri Uncut" podcast, LaPaglia accused Jelly Roll of letting his dramatic weight loss change his personality and ego, speculated he would pursue a younger "tradwife," and dismissed Bunnie Xo's conciliatory public tone as residual loyalty to a man who no longer deserves it. Page Six reported on the episode and the surrounding fallout.

The claims are unverified speculation from a podcast host with no stated inside knowledge of the marriage. But they landed in the middle of a messy public divorce that has already drawn intense fan interest, and they reveal something broader about the way celebrity breakups now get litigated on air, by people who aren't party to the case.

What LaPaglia actually said

LaPaglia's central argument was that Bunnie Xo's publicly stated goodwill toward Jelly Roll is not genuine. On the June 18 episode of her own "Dumb Blonde" podcast, Bunnie Xo had discussed the breakup, said it was "great" that Jelly Roll's "DMs are open," and reportedly encouraged him to start dating again.

LaPaglia wasn't buying it. On her podcast, she said:

"She doesn't mean that. She's still under the mind control of [Jelly Roll]."

She went further, pointing to social media activity from Bunnie Xo's inner circle as evidence that the goodwill was a front. LaPaglia claimed Bunnie Xo's closest friends were "reposting the most asinine, crazy, insulting videos about Jelly Roll and how he's the worst person and how people only like him because of Bunnie."

She did not identify the specific friends or the specific videos. No social media posts were quoted or linked.

LaPaglia framed Bunnie Xo's posture as protective, something she said she recognized from her own experience:

"Bunnie is just doing the thing where she's still protecting him. I went through that at a point too, where it's like you're not fully stepped out of the situation yet."

The weight loss theory

The sharpest part of LaPaglia's commentary centered on Jelly Roll's well-documented physical transformation. The 41-year-old country star has lost over 200 pounds, a journey that drew widespread public attention and praise.

LaPaglia cast that transformation in a different light. She predicted Bunnie Xo would eventually come to the same conclusion:

"She's going to step out of this a year from now and be like, 'Holy f***ing s**t, Jelly Belly f***ing lost weight, and the second he drops weight, take it for what it actually is.'"

Her claim, again, stated as speculation, not sourced to anyone with direct knowledge, was that Jelly Roll's weight loss changed his self-image and his expectations for a partner:

"He thought that he can do better. He can date someone younger. He's going to go for a 'tradwife.' One hundred percent gonna go for a 'tradwife.'"

She then turned the argument biographical, referencing Bunnie Xo's past as an escort, something Bunnie Xo has discussed publicly, and Jelly Roll's history of drug addiction and incarceration:

"Hey buddy, you were the one that got with an escort. She was an escort. She's talked about it. You were a drug addict and you were going to prison and in and out of jail. Now your morals don't align with it because you're f***ing skinny?"

And she closed with a line designed to sting:

"You dropped the weight on your belly and now you dropped the weight of Bunnie, who, I think was the only like redeeming and beautiful quality about Jelly Roll."

The divorce filing

The underlying facts of the split are less dramatic than LaPaglia's commentary. Jelly Roll filed for divorce from Bunnie Xo on May 18 in Williamson County, Tennessee, citing "irreconcilable differences." The couple had been married for nearly a decade. Page Six reported that the exes agreed to divide their assets and debts.

Representatives for both Bunnie Xo and Jelly Roll did not respond to Page Six's request for comment on LaPaglia's statements. Neither party has publicly addressed her claims.

That silence is worth noting. LaPaglia's accusations, about Jelly Roll's ego, his alleged desire for a younger partner, and his supposed abandonment of the woman who stood by him, are entirely her own characterizations. She offered no texts, no direct conversations, no sourcing beyond her own reading of the situation and her observation of social media activity by Bunnie Xo's friends.

The broader pattern

LaPaglia is not a minor figure in the podcast world. She is a "Special Forces: World's Toughest Test" alum and co-hosts the "BFFs" podcast. Her audience is large enough that her commentary draws media coverage and shapes public perception of the people she discusses.

That is precisely the problem. A divorce filing in a Tennessee county court is a legal matter between two people. The terms are set by the parties and reviewed by a judge. Irreconcilable differences is a standard no-fault ground. The asset division was agreed upon. None of that requires a third-party podcast host to assign motive, diagnose "mind control," or predict future dating behavior.

There is also an ongoing thread of speculation, referenced in Page Six's reporting but not sourced to any named individual, that religious beliefs may have played a role in the divorce. LaPaglia appeared to nod at this without elaborating. The basis for that speculation remains unclear.

What is clear is the incentive structure. Celebrity divorces generate enormous audience engagement. Podcast hosts who insert themselves into those stories, especially with provocative, emotionally charged takes, benefit directly from the attention. LaPaglia's episode was published to YouTube and drew coverage from major entertainment outlets.

None of that makes her claims true. And none of it gives Jelly Roll or Bunnie Xo a clean way to respond without amplifying the story further.

What remains unanswered

Several basic questions remain open. What are the specific terms of the asset and debt division? Has either party responded to LaPaglia's claims through any channel? What specific videos were Bunnie Xo's friends allegedly sharing, and do they actually reflect Bunnie Xo's own views? And does Jelly Roll's weight loss have anything at all to do with the divorce, or is that simply a convenient narrative frame for a podcast host looking for a hook?

The court filing says "irreconcilable differences." That is the only statement from anyone with legal standing in this matter. Everything else is commentary.

In a culture where anyone with a microphone and a following can assign blame in someone else's marriage, the people who actually have to live with the consequences rarely get the last word, or even a fair hearing.
