Taylor Swift plans to change outfits more than once during her wedding celebration to Travis Kelce, with designers Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, the duo behind the label Monse, among the top contenders to dress the pop star for the occasion, Page Six reported, citing an anonymous source.

The wedding is expected to take place over the July 3rd weekend at Madison Square Garden in New York City, a venue that, by any measure, fits the scale of the two celebrities involved.

The report lands amid a cascade of confirmations and near-confirmations that the Swift-Kelce wedding is real, imminent, and enormous. NDAs have been signed. Buses have been blacked out. And New York City's mayor has already let the secret slip in public.

The designers in the running

Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia co-founded Monse and spent nine years as co-creative directors at Oscar de la Renta before announcing their departure from the storied fashion house in September 2025. Their last collection for Oscar de la Renta will be Fall 2026, after which they plan to focus on Monse full time.

Their history with Swift stretches back more than a decade. Kim told Women's Wear Daily that Swift was "the sweetest" after dressing her for the 2014 Met Gala, where the singer wore a structured Oscar de la Renta gown. Since then, the duo has outfitted Swift for a string of high-profile appearances: a strapless floral brocade gown at the "Cats" premiere in New York in 2019, an Oscar de la Renta floral dress to accept Album of the Year for "folklore" at the 2021 Grammys, and a bejeweled look to collect three awards at the 2022 MTV VMAs.

More recently, Swift wore Kim and Garcia designs at the 2024 VMAs, including a beaded UFO minidress by Monse during the ceremony, and a $36,990 Oscar de la Renta piece from the duo's Pre-Spring 2026 collection to Selena Gomez's wedding in October 2025.

The designers have also dressed brides before. Amal Clooney, Paris Hilton, and Naomi Watts all wore Kim and Garcia creations for their own weddings.

Just this week, Swift wore an asymmetrical black strapless Monse gown embellished with silver details while singing "Love Story" alongside Lainey Wilson at Travis Kelce's Tight End University event in Nashville. The relationship between Swift and the design duo is clearly active and close.

How a celebrity wedding dress stays secret

Page Six cited an anonymous industry source explaining the lengths taken to keep details under wraps. When a brand frequently dresses a celebrity, the source said, it is common practice for the designers to have a mannequin built to the star's exact measurements, right down to accurate wrists and ankles, so the dress can be constructed without requiring the celebrity to come in for fittings.

That kind of secrecy infrastructure matters when the bride is Taylor Swift. NDAs with financial penalties have reportedly been imposed on invited guests before they receive any specific ceremony details, Newsmax reported, citing the tight security around the event. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani effectively confirmed the wedding during a Monday press conference, listing it alongside the FIFA World Cup and July 4th America 250 celebrations as major events converging on the city the same weekend.

"We know it coincides with the Knicks' [NBA] Finals run. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift's wedding, all happening at the same time, and we are so excited to welcome the world here," Mamdani said. He added, with a grin: "I wish them a lovely wedding. I'll listen to 'Only the Young' at home on my own."

The couple first announced their engagement on Instagram on August 26, 2025, after two years of dating. The joint post included photos from the proposal and a picture of the wedding ring, with the caption: "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."

Madison Square Garden: The logistics

The choice of Madison Square Garden is ambitious even by Swift's standards. Fox News reported that an entertainment industry executive confirmed to The New York Times that a multi-day event was set to take over the arena, which Swift rented beginning July 2. The plan reportedly calls for an intimate gathering of roughly 100 people followed by a larger celebration of approximately 1,000 guests on July 3.

MSG has no scheduled events from June 29 through July 6, leaving the window open. Guests would be transported to the venue on blacked-out buses, taking advantage of the arena's multiple entrances and secure infrastructure, the New York Post reported. "If you have billions you can transform the space into a wedding venue," one anonymous source told the Post.

The venue has also been the site of less celebratory events. Post-game disorder near Madison Square Garden earlier this year resulted in dozens of arrests and injuries to NYPD officers, a reminder of the security challenges the area presents during large-scale gatherings.

Two NYPD officers confirmed to Fox News that they had been warned about a possible influx of Swift fans and paparazzi during the wedding weekend. That strain comes on top of an already packed summer for the department, which is simultaneously managing World Cup crowds and America250 festivities.

The guest list and the secrecy machine

Page Six named Ed Sheeran, Gigi Hadid, the Haim sisters, Sombr, Suki Waterhouse, Cara Delevingne, and Mariska Hargitay as expected guests. Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid is also anticipated to attend. The couple has reportedly told guests that no gifts are allowed, a detail that has only fueled public curiosity about the event's scale and tone.

The secrecy apparatus around the wedding has been extensive. "Everyone's been sworn to secrecy," one anonymous source told the New York Post. The NDAs, the blacked-out buses, the mannequin fittings, all of it points to a level of operational security more commonly associated with government events than celebrity nuptials.

Meanwhile, not everyone in Swift's orbit appears to be on the invite list. Reports have circulated about a lingering rift between Swift and Blake Lively, adding a layer of personal drama to an event already saturated with public fascination.

A custom bodysuit and a decade of collaboration

The depth of Swift's working relationship with Kim and Garcia goes beyond red carpets. For the Eras Tour, Swift wore a custom Oscar de la Renta midnight sequin-and-crystal bodysuit that reportedly took 315 hours to create. She also wore an Aurora Borealis sequined shirt and lavender faux fur coat designed by the pair for "Lavender Haze," and a blue strapless embroidered cutout floral gown by them at the "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" concert film premiere in Los Angeles in 2023.

That kind of sustained, high-trust creative partnership is exactly what you'd expect to produce a wedding dress, or, in this case, several. The multiple outfit changes reported by Page Six are consistent with the scale of the event: a multi-day celebration at one of the world's most famous arenas, with a guest list that reads like a cross-section of entertainment, fashion, and professional football.

The betting markets seem to agree. Over $2 million has been wagered on Kalshi prediction markets surrounding the wedding, Fox News reported, with roughly 75 percent of bettors expecting New York to host the ceremony and more than half predicting Madison Square Garden as the venue.

Swift, who the Washington Examiner noted has a reported net worth north of $1 billion, is 35 years old. The Examiner's Kimberly Ross wrote that getting engaged at that age is "not anything outrageous" and defended Swift against cultural critics who have tried to make her personal timeline a proxy for broader fertility debates.

High-profile weddings in the public eye are nothing new. Brian Glenn recently relocated ahead of his wedding to Marjorie Taylor Greene, another reminder that personal milestones for public figures inevitably become public spectacles.

What remains unknown

Neither Swift nor Kelce has publicly confirmed the Madison Square Garden venue, the July 3rd date, or the outfit details. No representative for Monse or Oscar de la Renta has confirmed or denied involvement in the wedding attire. The identity of Page Six's anonymous sources remains undisclosed, and the specific terms of the NDAs signed by guests have not been made public.

The reported guest list, while widely circulated, rests on anonymous sourcing. And the full roster of designers "in the running" beyond Kim and Garcia has not been revealed.

What is clear is that the machinery around this wedding, the venue rental, the security coordination with NYPD, the mayor's public confirmation, the NDA regime, the mannequin fittings, is already operating at full speed. Whether the dresses are by Monse, Oscar de la Renta, or someone else entirely, the event itself has moved well past the rumor stage.

In a culture that treats celebrity weddings like national holidays, at least this one involves two people who actually got engaged, set a date, and appear to be following through. That alone puts it ahead of most things coming out of New York this summer.
